Buying medicines online can be convenient and affordable — but it pays to be careful. These five habits will help you order safely, wherever you shop.
1. Talk to a doctor first
Many medicines — including most ED treatments, antibiotics and sleep medicines — are prescription-only in the US, UK, EU, Canada and Australia. A doctor can confirm the medicine is right for you, check it against your other medicines and set the right dose. See our prescription policy.
2. Compare by active ingredient, not brand name
Generic medicines are sold under many brand names. Always check the active ingredient and strength — for example "sildenafil 100 mg" — so you know exactly what you are taking and don't double up on the same ingredient by accident.
3. Check the import rules where you live
Rules on importing medicines vary by country, and some medicines are controlled substances. Check before you order: customs authorities can inspect, delay or refuse parcels. Our Shipping & Returns page explains how this works.
4. Inspect your parcel when it arrives
- Blister packs and seals should be intact.
- Check the expiry date and that the name and strength match your order.
- If anything is damaged or wrong, take photos and contact the seller straight away — at WeCare Meds, within 7 days of delivery.
5. Pay securely and protect your details
Use payment methods that offer buyer protection, such as PayPal. Never send full card details or passwords by email, chat or WhatsApp — a genuine seller will never ask for them that way.
